We run small courses at Silver Arrow Archery - normally eight people
This allows us to give everyone our full attention and help them develop through the course
Courses are run by NGB qualified coaches
Starting your route into archery
All our coaches are NGB qualfied and will spend time with you improving your technique, tuning your bow, or working on your mental preparation.
Once you have completed the course you will receive a certificate which will make you eligible to join an archery club and shoot independently.
Who can take part
The minimum age for beginners courses is normally 10 years - this depends on maturity and strength, so some 10 years will be fine, others may need to wait a little while. If in doubt we are happy to carry out a quick assessment before the start of the course. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout the course. It is acceptable for the parent/guardian to take the course at the same time.
There is no maximum age - the oldest person we have taught so far was 82.
Archery is a very accessible sport and therefore we are happy to teach people of almost all physical abilities. If you have a medical or other condition that you think may affect your archery, just let us know and we will do our best to ensure you can shoot. (If you do not inform us in advance we may not have the staffing levels or facilities ready for you - so you may not not be able to shoot - even if you have booked.)
