Sunday 22nd June 9:45 for 11:00 start

There will be a total of 35 archers on the field this Sunday for our first competition against Berkhamsted Bowmen. We will be hosting 15 archers from the Berkhamsted Club.

“We will be using ALL of the rolling foam bosses (including the"coaching" boss) and some of the fixed foam bosses, but we have not had to use any of the Straw.

We still have space for 1 more archer on a standard Western (60,50 yards), 2 on a Western50 (50,40) and 3 each on the Western 40 & 30. Please let Ian know (tournament@silverarrowarchery.club) if you would like to shoot on one of those targets.

If you are able to come down to support, to man the gate in the morning & help parking - that would be great.

Note -we will need field team duties for ALL of our archers taking part - especially if there are no supporters to help!!

The sun shone on the archers who lined up for the National Rounds competition last Sunday and there were some great scores, many of which were new Club records. Once again, with a range of archers with a range of bow types shooting a range of different distances, there were a lot of winners. Congratulations to all our winners and record breakers.

Fun Field shoot

Sunday 29th June 10:30 for 11am start

You may have noticed when booking for events recently that there is a Fun Field shoot scheduled for Sunday 29th June. It is a free competition which involves shooting at 3d targets placed at unspecified (but not too far) distances. It is always great fun so why not book up on the events page and come down and show your prowess! There is a trophy to be won!

If you are planning to come down and have an old sheet or two, or a tarp which you don’t mind getting some holes in please bring them with you to help cut down on arrow finding times!

New Members

Two new members have had their induction sessions this weekend.

Jay Haider and Phil Capeling, are both graduates of our recent Beginners course.

Please make both Jay and Phil very welcome when you see them on the shooting line.

Edlesborough Carnival 2025

Our hardworking events officer, Jess says “Hi everyone, the club will have a stall at the St Mary's carnival again this year on Saturday 5th July. If anyone is available to comedown to help chat to people, support the Club or to help set or take down the gazebo it would be great to see you there!

… and Finally

There are some social events to take place next week too. The Club Social on Wednesday 25th June and is a Brian Ridgeway special “Numbers and Dates”. Then for our ever-increasing number of Juniors, the Junior social will be on Saturday 28th from 11am to 1pm – a coach on hand to give you help and advice if you want it.
